What information is kept by the cookie?

In so far as your shopping basket while using the site, if you have logged in or registered to place an order and placed items in your shopping basket but you do not purchase those items, we will send you a reminder email to let you know that you have products in your shopping basket. However, this information is only stored for 48 hours. Thereafter, the items will no longer be in your basket and you will not receive any further emails from us.
When someone visits www.clubvits.com we use a third party service, Google Analytics to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the website and its pages. This information is only processed in a way that does not identify anyone. We do not make, and allow Google to discover the identities of anyone visiting the website, nor do we store personal information on users.
We use Google Analytics information to assess how customers are using our website, what pages or products they view and how many visitors place orders. We do not use it to identify customers personally.
How we use your data
Our primary purpose in using your data is to provide you with your order. We may analyse your data (or provide your data to agents who are contracted to supply services to us) to create a data profile to enable us to provide a better service to you. Apart from as outlined above, we will not pass your data to a third party, in the normal course of business, unless that third party requires the data to fulfil your order

As part of the registration process you can opt in to our mailing list by checking the tick box during checkout or via our newsletter sign-up box. By ticking the box or inputting your email you are consenting to receiving emails from us containing marketing or promotional materials. During sign-up, we collect personal information. We use that information to tell you about products and offers at Club Vits, news that is relevant to our industry and in order to contact you regarding any orders placed on our website. We may on occasion use your information for customer feedback surveys relating to products you have purchased from Club Vits. However, we do not rent, trade or sell customer emails under any circumstances.
We use a third-party provider – MailChimp to deliver our newsletters. We gather statistics around email opening, number of clicks in an email and purchases of products. You can unsubscribe to our general mailing list at any time by clicking the unsubscribe at the bottom of our emails or by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org with a subject line Data Protection Officer. Any information you collect through newsletter subscriptions, why you collect it, what you do with it, and any third-party sharing.
Your consent to processing data
By Law we are required to obtain your consent to processing your data. We will assume that you have given your consent to the uses outlined above if you provide us with any data via our Site or via replies to advertisements. You can advise us that you wish to withdraw your consent by sending us an email explaining the situation to email@example.com and by using the subject line - Data Controller.
Where we process or transfer your data outside of what is outlined in "How we use your data" we will ask you to provide your specific consent.
How we protect your data
The data that you have provided will remain in databases that are established in a network that is firewall protected. Firewalls exist to stop the transfer of unauthorised information to or from the network. Physical access to our servers is restricted through the use of door code security systems. Higher level user login ID and password controls are also in place to restrict access. Only a limited number of IT personnel are authorised by the IT director to access the database. We use industry standard security technology and server certification.
As a routine we carry out validation checks to help prevent fraud. No protection system is foolproof and the company cannot guarantee the total security of data or accept any liability unless a breach of security was due to our proven wilful default or negligence. Certain websites linked to our Site may not offer the same protections as our Site and the laws of some countries outside the Channel Islands or the EU to which your data may be transferred as part of the process of providing products and services to you, may not offer the same data protection.
No Credit Card numbers are held within our Site or the associated back-office systems used to process your orders with us. For future reference to help us communicate with you, the first few and/or last digits only of the Credit Card number are kept by us.

Under GDPR, all your personal information shall be held and used in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and national laws implementing GDPR and any legislation that replaces it in whole or in part and any other legislation relation to the protection of personal data.
